Meet your psychologist

Nicole Yammine.
The person behind the practice.

I am a psychologist with a PhD in Clinical Psychology, licensed in Finland, France and Lebanon. With more than eight years of clinical experience across Finland and Lebanon, I have worked in private practice, student welfare services, community settings and online, supporting people through emotional difficulties and important changes in their lives.

Warmth, compassion and authenticity guide my work. I want our conversations to feel welcoming and thoughtful, with room for uncertainty, difficult emotions and the parts of your experience that can be hard to put into words.

Meet your psychologist

Understanding patterns.
Making room for change.

CBT can help us explore the links between thoughts, emotions and actions, and develop practical ways to respond. Psychodynamic understanding brings attention to recurring patterns and the influence of earlier experiences and relationships.

Mindfulness offers ways to notice your experiences with greater awareness and less self-criticism. We draw on these approaches according to your needs, agree on a focus and review our work together.

My approach

Understanding your experience,
together.

CBTACTEFTPsychodynamic

You may be carrying more than others realise. Perhaps you keep meeting your responsibilities while feeling anxious, exhausted or disconnected. You might understand why something hurts but still find yourself caught in the same patterns.

I believe therapy begins with a relationship in which you can speak openly, ask questions and feel taken seriously. My role is to listen carefully, help you make sense of your experience and work with you towards changes that feel meaningful and possible.

01 · Thoughts, feelings & actions

Cognitive behavioural therapy

Recognise the connections between thoughts, feelings and actions, and develop practical ways to respond.

CBT
02 · Values & flexibility

Acceptance and commitment therapy

Relate differently to difficult thoughts and emotions while making choices guided by your values.

ACT
03 · Emotions & connection

Emotionally focused therapy

Bring attention to the feelings and needs beneath relationship difficulties.

EFT
04 · Patterns & understanding

Psychodynamic exploration

Understand how earlier experiences may continue to shape your relationships and sense of yourself.

Psychodynamic

We draw on these approaches according to your needs, rather than following a fixed formula.

Working across cultures has also shaped how I listen. Relocation, language, family expectations and belonging can influence both what feels difficult and what support feels helpful. You are welcome to bring all these parts of your life into our conversations.

Education & continuing development

Clinical foundations.
Continuing curiosity.

My practice is grounded in doctoral training in Clinical Psychology and continued learning in approaches that connect psychological understanding with everyday change.

Experience in Finland

Understanding people.
Across settings and cultures.

My experience in Finland brings together private practice, student welfare services, intercultural family support and community mental wellbeing work.

01 · Private practice

Individual support, in person and online

I work with adults navigating anxiety, stress, burnout, relationships and life transitions, with attention to cultural background, identity and the pressures of adapting to new environments.

02 · Student welfare services

Wellbeing within a wider support system

My work within Finland’s student welfare system has involved psychological support around wellbeing, learning and developmental concerns, alongside collaboration with families and multidisciplinary professionals.

03 · Intercultural couples & families

Relationships across different worlds

I have supported couples and families through communication difficulties, separation, parenting challenges and cultural expectations, drawing on emotion regulation and non-violent communication.

04 · Workshops & community work

Making psychological knowledge accessible

I design and facilitate workshops on mental wellbeing, relationships, grief, parenting and integration, creating space for reflection, practical learning and shared understanding.

Earlier clinical work in Lebanon included individual and group support, cognitive and emotional assessments, and crisis support for people and families affected by trauma and difficult life events.

Research & writing

Exploring relationships,
identity and change.

My writing connects an interest in relationships and psychological experience with the practical challenges people face in everyday life.

Is Mindwellness right for me?

You may not need a label. You may simply know that something needs to change.

People often come to therapy when life still looks functional from the outside, yet feels increasingly difficult on the inside.

01

You seem to be coping, but privately feel exhausted, anxious or emotionally overwhelmed.

02

You overthink, worry or find it difficult to switch off even when things are going well.

03

You keep repeating patterns in relationships that you understand intellectually but struggle to change.

04

You are navigating relocation, separation, parenthood, loss, career change or another major transition.

05

You live between cultures and want space to explore belonging, identity and expectations without having to explain everything first.

06

You want to understand yourself more deeply—not only reduce symptoms, but build a life that feels more connected and sustainable.

Frequently asked

Questions before you begin.

Still unsure whether Mindwellness is right for you?

Send a confidential enquiry ↗
What happens during the free consultation?+

It is a brief, informal call to hear what you are looking for, answer practical questions and consider whether working together may be a good fit. It is not a therapy session and you do not need to share anything you are not ready to discuss.

How long is a therapy session?+

Standard individual sessions are typically 45–60 minutes. Couples sessions may be longer. Exact duration and fees will be clearly confirmed before booking.

Do you offer online and in-person sessions?+

Yes. Sessions can be offered online and, subject to current availability, in person in the Helsinki metropolitan area.

How many sessions will I need?+

That depends on your needs, goals and circumstances. Some clients seek focused short-term support, while others benefit from longer-term work. We discuss this openly and review progress together.

Is therapy confidential?+

Confidentiality is a core part of psychological care. Privacy, record-keeping and the limited legal exceptions to confidentiality are explained clearly before therapy begins.

Is Mindwellness the right service for every situation?+

No single practice is right for everyone. During initial contact, we consider whether the service matches your needs. When another type or level of care appears more appropriate, you may be advised to seek a different service or referral pathway.

Can another professional refer a client?+

Professional enquiries and referrals are welcome. Please make initial contact without including identifying or sensitive client information, so we can agree on an appropriate way to communicate.

Do you offer therapy in several languages?+

Sessions are available in English, French, Arabic and Finnish. You can ask about your preferred language when arranging an introductory conversation.
